Paraphrased Blog Post: Wisdom 2A goes Mt. Naupa

With the help of social media, Mt. Naupa in City of Naga became more popular today. It is rank as the 8th highest mountain in Central Visayas and the 1,106th highest mountain in the Philippines with the height of 584 meters. It is so accessible with just an hour and a half drive from home. Mt. Naupa is definitely for first time trekkers.

We heard a lot of great feedback about the campsite. We may not a skilled mountaineers but we decided to went there to try and experience the  beauty of the Mountain.

We decided to meet at Julies Bakeshop at 9:00 am, infront of University of Cebu-Main. We bought the things needed in trekking like lots of water, biscuits, and crackers.

Since its our first time, we asked the children there who is also a local to guide us on the man-made trail.

The trek was easy at first but when we reached halfway of the trail it started to ascent. Since we are not experienced mountaineers, we stopped by so many times because breathing was starting to be difficult. We took shade under the trees before we moved on. It was disheartening to see the quarry. It’s devastating to witness as it’s destroying the beauty of nature.

From Gaisano Tabunok, we take a jeepney (#43) or you can take a cab if you don’t have a private vehicle. The route starts at Cogon Chapel which is a jump-off site that you can from Tungkop Minglanilla.

“Pause for a break if you need to breathe and regain strength. Your physical fitness will be tested but keeping your eyes to the goal will help you get there in time. Enjoy the breeze, chase the sunset, and make new friends at Mt. Naupa.”
